Underage Drinking, Not a minor problem

Problem Gambling Services - One of ASAC's goals is to raise awareness of the problem of pathological gambling by:

  • providing the professional community with the knowledge and tools to offer intervention, assessment, referral, and treatment services to problem gamblers and their families
  • raising public awareness of the issue of problem and compulsive gambling
  • targeting prevention programs designed to prevent youth gambling
  • serving as a community and professional resource on the issue of problem gambling

ASAC's message is clear, consistent, and non-judgmental. We emphasize that, although gambling is a risk-taking behavior...

  • most people gamble with no apparent problem
  • there is a small but significant portion of the population who becomes addicted to the “action” of gambling to the detriment of their lives and the lives of their loved ones
  • prevention is critical in reducing incidences of problem and compulsive gambling
